Camberwell is known for its leafy streets and rich mix of architecture, from Victorian and Federation homes to striking modern builds. This Hamptons style family home brings a touch of coastal chic to the neighbourhood, defined by natural light, soft neutral tones and open, airy spaces. Collaborating with the homeowners and architects from the earliest planning stages, Style Precinct curated materials, finishes and furnishings that blend crisp architectural lines with the relaxed textures of coastal living.
The clients purchased a property with an elevated parkland outlook and a vision to create their forever family home. The existing house was outdated, lacked off-street parking and was not suited to the rhythm of modern living. The brief was to create an elegant, welcoming home that would stand the test of time in both style and durability. Building company MK Design & Construct were engaged to design a Hamptons style home with generous proportions and every modern amenity. Working closely with the building company, Noni Edmunds shaped the interiors to ensure a natural flow between inside and out and a cohesive connection to the garden and pool. Her harmonious palette balanced comfort and sophistication, combining natural materials and family-friendly finishes, characteristic of Hamptons interior design.

Soft coastal hues were grounded by warm oak flooring and white shaker joinery, while polished surfaces and woven finishes created depth and visual interest. Natural light was integral to the design, shaping an interior that feels calm, cohesive and connected. The steep site provided an opportunity to introduce a garage at street level and elevate the main living areas to capture sweeping park views. Inside, the open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas anchor family life. A generous kitchen island encourages connection, while the large study provides flexibility for both adults and children. Design details that delight - The home unfolds naturally from the street to the garden, revealing layers of light and texture. Concrete-inspired benchtops, textured tiles and handmade lighting bring character and warmth, while the classic Hamptons palette of white, timber and soft blue connects each room with quiet continuity. The alfresco terrace and pool extend the living space outdoors, creating an ideal setting for entertaining family and friends.
