The client came to us to design a new luxury ensuite with the desire to have a marble bathroom that was elegant and befitting the 1920s character style of the home in this leafy Melbourne area.
At our first meeting the existing small internal bathroom and a bedroom each side of it had been opened up to a bare shell with exposed brick, no ceilings and bare floorboards- a blank canvas so to speak.
Our design divided up the space into the master bedroom, walk in robe and ensuite. Drawing in natural light to the ensuite through 2 windows and the addition of a skylight was one the major elements of our design along with the selection of light coloured surfaces and handsome fittings.
The surfaces feature large format tiles with minimal grout lines for easy maintenance, lorde white marble vanity benchtop, a black border tile at the base of wall and a stylish grey marble look floor tile. Offset with warm tones of brushed brass for tapware and black accents for the lighting and double doors with reeded glass for privacy complete the elegant scheme.
Our custom-designed French doors provide a theatrical and elegant entrance into the spa like ensuite while also allowing the natural light in the ensuite to flood through into the walk in robe area making it light and a welcoming space to be in.
Our custom designed Walk in Robe has a place for everything all neatly stored behind elegant doors and a feature display area with lighting to display special items. to utilise the potential in our design we created a custom made ottoman that also has storage within. For the bedroom area, we added extra appeal to the bedroom area by designing wall strapping as a feature behind the bed. The client possessed a chandelier to be used in the bedroom and we selected other pendant lights and bathroom wall lights that would complement without overshadowing the grandeur of the centrepiece chandelier.
